WWII Era Navy "Rude Star Finder" Charts
Item Details
A pair of WWII era Navy ‘Rude Star Finder’ charts. Folders are marked ‘Published at the Hydrographic Office, Washingotn, D.C. Oct 1940 under the authority of The Secretary of the Navy’. Included in each folder are a double sided star identifier chart, for northern and southern hemispheres. Also included are four acetate overlays for 10, 30, 50 and 60 degrees latitude. There is a separate double sided paper instruction sheet with tables I and II, to be used to properly orient selected template on the star base with day, month and year.
Condition
- There is a signature to the outside of one folder, “William J Davis”, and a stamp from “Geo E Butler Navigational Instruments”.
