Pair of Signed Etchings by Willy Seiler
Item Details
A pair of signed etchings by Willy Seiler (born 1903). Both etchings feature images of Chinese men lighting pipes and smoking. One etching is titled Lighting Up, and the other is titled Chinese Smoker. Both etchings are signed in pencil ‘W. Seiler’ to the lower right. A German artist, Seiler studied art in Munich but left Germany in 1928 and eventually settled in Japan. Seiler is particularly known for his depictions of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean life. Both etchings are displayed in wooden bamboo style frames in brown and black double mats. Hanging hardware present to verso.
Condition
Minor wear to frame. Minor foxing to the edges of the print.

Measurement is for the frames stacked back to back. Etching measures 9.5″ × 12.5″ through mat.
