Item Details
A pair of vintage leather gauntlets probably dating to World War II. The straps at the wrists have several snaps to adjust the fit. The external snap is marked Hansen’s Milwaukee. Insulated gloves similar to these were used during the war by gunners and motorcyclists and later, when available as surplus, for many different outdoor activities. A similar pair is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
