"H.R. Cannon & Sons" Portrait Painting by Andrew Weissman
Item Details
An original acrylic painting on stretched canvas by listed American painter Andrew Weissman. The image depicts an African American woman wearing a wide brimmed straw hat and blue garments with a floral pattern on her long skirt. She stands before the open window of a stucco structure with a basket of tomatoes in hand labeled, ‘H. P. Cannon & Sons’. The blue window trim above her features text reading, ‘Bridgeville, Delaware’. Weismann’s signature is featured to the lower left corner, and, also, on a paper advertisement for H. P. Cannon & Sons attached to the verso. The canvas is presented in a simple beveled wood frame.
