US Military Evasion Chart for Desert Storm

A US military ‘Evasion Chart’, published by the Defense Mapping Agency, August 1990, at the beginning of Operation Desert Storm. It consists of a series of maps covering Kuwait, southern Iraq, and southwestern Iran, with topographical markings and physical features as well as cities and roads. Around the borders of these maps are survival tips, with text and images relating to desert survival in the region, including weather, food sources, first aid and even alternative survival uses for the chart itself. The chart is unframed and printed to both sides of the paper.

Condition

- the chart is rolled, and has a tendency to roll up unless held down. There is some minor creasing around the top and bottom edges, but for being unframed it is in quite good condition.
