Item Details
A vintage Nurre Company Maestro Mirror. A lovely mirror with etched glass berries and vine design on the top and bottom. The frame, a modified fleur-de-lis design on the top with curls and scroll work, is wood overlain with gesso and painted a dark bronze. Gesso is a plaster based medium used for gilding on wood.
Condition
One large chip off the lower left, some imperfections in the glass. Some of the gesso framing has cracks, but nothing is broken off. The aged paper on the back is tearing. A chip of wood veneer is missing from the back, top right.
