Renaissance Revival Marble Top Server

Item Details

A gorgeous marble-topped French Renaissance Revival server/buffet dating to the mid-1800s. The top is a removable slab of deep burgundy-colored marble with white and gray veins. It is solid walnut construction with burled walnut veneer on the drawers and doors. Includes five dovetail drawers and two cabinet doors for under-storage. There is an intricate carving of stylized foliage between the cabinet doors and carving on the front sides as well as the apron. Each drawer and cabinet has a keyhole with working parts, but the keys are no longer present. The piece was originally purchased in Europe.

Condition

Some signs of wear consistent with age and use; key hole covers are not all attached but are presently in a drawer; no keys.
