A limited edition color woodcut titled Young Artist by listed artist Mervin Jules (American, 1912 – 1994). Mervin was a Maryland based artist whom received his formal fine art education at Baltimore City College and the Maryland Institute College of Art. He was an active painter and printmaker, known for his social realist satire and figural style, and his works have been exhibited in solo exhibitions and permanent collections such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Young Artist depicts a young red headed child, hunched over, painting on the floor, with a textural background. Pencil signed, titled and numbered 29/60 along the bottom. Set in a single cream mat and gold gilt wood and glass protected frame.
