Item Details

A pair of late 19th century Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) badges, including a local post officer and national officer. The top bar of the former is decorated with a chaplain’s cross and local post’s blue border. The eagle on the latter signifies a medical director of aide-de-camp and the gold border indicates a national officer. The G.A.R. was a fraternal organization formed in 1866 by and for Union veteran’s of the Civil War.

Condition

- toning and some wear consistent with age.
