A collection of unframed signed prints by Arnold McDowell. ‘The Road Home, Plate I, Series II’ depicts a dirt road winding uphill by a rustic barn and cabin. It is signed and numbered, 730/1000, by the artist. ‘Springtime at Home, Plate III, Series I’ is signed and numbered 459/500, and shows the pastel beauty of the mountains in spring. The winter season is represented in ‘Sunset in the Appalachians, Plate III, Series I’, signed and numbered 383/500, a depiction of a winter scene with a barn and cabin, and by ‘Open Gate’, a winter barnyard scene, signed and numbered 652/1000. The fifth print is titled ‘Little Angel’ and is the depiction of a little girl standing among flowers in a rural house yard, looked upon unknowingly by an angel.
Condition
A collection of signed unframed reproduction prints by Tennessee artist Arnold McDowell depicting various scenes inspired by his upbringing in the mountains. The group includes “The Road Home” Plate I, Series II, signed and numbered 730/1000, which depicts a country road climbing between a barn and a cabin, and “Springtime at Home” Plate III, Series I, signed and numbered 459/500, which shows the fresh green grass and foliage of an Appalachian spring. Additionally, there is “Sunset on the Appalachians” Plate III, Series I, which depicts the fading light of a winter sunset and is signed and numbered 383/500. “Open Gate”, signed and numbered 682/100 is another rural winter scene, this one of a barn yard. Finally, there is “Little Angel,” Plate III, Series II, signed and dated 1978 in the plate and then signed by the artist in the lower right corner.
