Vintage Thomasville Duncan Phyfe Style Dining Table and Chairs
Item Details
A vintage Duncan Phyfe style dining table and eight chairs from the Thomasville Chair Company. This mahogany veneer two pedestal dining table has a special center leaf which moves into place when the two ends of the table are pulled apart. The table can be shortened by lifting the two piece leaf out of place and sliding the ends back together. The table features two turned wood pedestal supports with saber reeded legs and brass capped feet on casters. There are eight dining chairs also included in this lot. There are six side chairs and two carving chairs. The front legs are reeded and tapered. The back splats are lyre-shaped and the top rails are arched. The chairs are upholstered in a contemporary polka dot fabric in tones of green, gray, and taupe.
Condition
The veneer on the table has chipped in several places and there are some superficial scratches to the surface. The chairs are in good condition, with wear appropriate to their age.
Dimensions
Dimensions without leaf extended. Leaf is twelve inches. Chair dimensions are 21″ × 38.5″ × 21″.
