An original still life painting by American artist Lillie Fry Fisher (1863-1943) titled Fall Flowers. Fisher was from Indiana, and trained at the Cincinnati Art Academy. This still life oil painting on canvas features Fisher’s typical impasto technique, whereby the paint is applied very thickly with visible brush and knife strokes. Large floral arrangements were a frequent subject of hers. This painting was purchased in 1929 from the John Herron Art Institute at the Twenty-Third Indiana Artists Exhibition. Original painting tag is included. It is professionally framed in gilded wood.
