Item Details

A lithograhic reproduction of a painting titled Doctor by highly regarded English painter Sir Luke Fildes (1843 – 1927). In 1890 Sir Henry Tate commissioned Sir Luke Fildes to paint an original work, leaving the subject matter to the artist discretion. The print was later made into a U.S. postage stamp. This lot includes the framed print, and a copy of the stamp on an unopened envelope marked June 9th, 1947. The envelope is stamped with the Hippocrates Oath.
