An original oil on board painting of a sad clown by listed artist Louis Spiegel (1901-1975.) Spiegel is a well known Ohio artist mostly for his expressive clown portraits. This unique clown painting by Spiegel depicts an up close portrait of a clown actor smoking a long stem cigarette. The painting is signed to the lower right hand corner in red paint and presented in a gold tone frame with canvas insetting.
