Collection of Antique Snake Oil and Other Bottles

A collection of antique bottles in various shapes and colors. Chief among this collection is a set of six rectangular snake oil bottles. These bottles, circa late 1800s, contained mysterious, noxious ‘remedies’ that claimed to cure various illnesses. The bottles are embossed: ‘The Maltine Mfg Co Chemists New York’; ‘Dr O Phelps Brown’; ‘Neoferrum’; ’Pardee’s Rheumatic Remedy’; ’Drake’s Palmetto Wine Compound’; and ‘Dr. Miles Restorative Nervine’. Also in this collection are several lidded jars, a vintage Ovaltine jar, and a amber stoppered blue decanter.
Condition
The snake oil bottles show significant surface dirt and tape residue.
