A vintage Champion Blower & Forge Company industrial drill press from the early 1900s. Founded 1875 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the Champion Blower & Forge Company was the brainchild of Henry Keiper who, at a mere 16 years old, invented a novel rotary blower to fan the fires in a blacksmith forge. This drill press was manufactured between 1900-1949. The solid iron and steel drill press is attached to a thick oak plank for mounting on a wall.
Condition
This piece is rusty, oily and in need of cleaning. The wood support is worn and shows use, but the entire piece is sturdy and strong. The top wheel assembly is broken off and there is no handle.
