'The Bookworm' Framed Vintage Print with Light
Item Details
A delightful vintage framed print for the bibliophile. Entitled ‘The Bookworm,’ after an original 1850 work by the German artist Karl Spitzweg, the print itself is not pixelated, and shows some use of stippling with broad lines and broad areas of color, and may be, at least in part, an aquatint. The wooden frame features an applied quill decoration to top, and has a brass plate to bottom engraved with the print’s title. The margins of print are not showing.
Condition
A portion of the applied decorative element to top of frame is missing.
