Late 1940s Challenger Arcade Game

A vintage late 1940s Challenger arcade shooting game made by the A.B.T. Mfg. Co. of Chicago, with fantastic graphics to the metal and wooden case. The game, marked ‘W.A. Tratsch’ and patented in 1925, has a silver tone metal pistol that fits into the case.The pistol is used for shooting balls into a target at the opposite end of the case. The angled sides feature panels illustrated with pairs of combative warriors engaged in sporting activities, rendered in black and red against a cream background. The end of the game features a hunter and dog in black, with a red field and flying birds. A glass panel to the top retains original decals that show ‘10 Shots for 1 cent’ to one side and instructions to the other.
