A 1951 solid bronze medal commemorating the 250th Anniversary of Detroit , Michigan. This rare medal is by Medallic Art and features Antoine De Lamothe Cadillac Founder of Detroit and shows the explorer and his crew in a canoe landing before scantily clad natives on the front. The back of the medal has Old Fort Ponchartrain 1701 in the foreground and a 1951 city scape of Detroit in the background. It is stamped ‘Detroit 250th Birthday Festival 1951 Past-Present-Future’. This is 2.875 in diameter.
