Large Walnut Primitive Cupboard
Item Details
An impressive primitive walnut cupboard, with a front consisting of three broad blanks, the center opening to five shelves that are nailed into the sides. Each side of this piece is a single broad plank, with the back consisting of three planks. The top shows evidence of being hand planed. The front latch is made of iron, with a small porcelain knob. Bottom front inside edge of door has a small protective metal plate. The iron nails have large, irregularly shaped heads.
Condition
Piece is primitive. Front door hits the ground when it opens, so it doesn’t open far. There are numerous blemishes to finish, which is in the nature of the wood itself. The iron door latch is broken, and the porcelain knob has a chip. Please preview for best assessment.
