Antique Italian Portable Revival Pump Organ

An antique Italian portable pump reed organ, in a walnut case. Turn-of-the-century instruments like this were often used by travelling evangelists or missionaries, in part because of its capability to fold up into a sturdy walnut case. This organ has a short keyboard and few stops, but the ability to keep hymn singers generally on pitch. The organ is marked ‘Pianoforti armonium Ditto Castelli Benigno’ to a label above the keyboard. The organ has the scale notation to the right side and pair of fold-down pedals to the base. The case has dovetailed corners and wire bale handles to the sides. Untested.

—vintage condition with some cracks to top, finish wear, untested, some ivories are a different shade, water marks to the top, couple of missing hardware to top
