An unframed print Nashua by James N. Slick. Active in California, Slick (1901-1979) was a frequent painter of winning racehorses. American thoroughbred Nashua is known for winning a match race against the horse who had previously beat him in the 1955 Kentucky Derby, a horse named Swaps. This collotype print depicts the famed horse trotting out on the track.
