A signed and numbered limited edition lithograph by naturalist/artist John Ruthven titled Red-Headed Woodpecker. The image illustrates the handsome woodpecker in flight against a tree with foliage in the background. The lithograph is titled in the margin at the bottom, the artist’s signature is in the plate and in pencil at the lower right corner and the print is numbered 376/1500. The woodpecker is framed under glass in a double mat with a wood frame.
John Ruthven (1927) born in Cincinnati, studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and became referred to as ‘The 20th Century Audubon’ due to the fact that he researched his subject thoroughly then masterfully depicted wildlife in great and exact detail.
Condition
The lithograph is a bit wavy but there is no sign of moisture damage, it is believed to be just a mounting issue. The frame is a bit scuffed at the top edge.

The image measures approx 14″ × 12″.
