An original brass sculpture by Colbert Collins (1924-2013 ) depicting a mother and child balanced on a pair of stacked books. Signed by the artist on the base.

Colbert Collins was born in Portsmouth, OH and raised in Harlan, KY before joining the army during WWII. After settling in New York he founded an Artists Consortium of local painters and sculptors and began exhibiting his work at the Arnot Art Gallery in Elmira New York, before moving to West Palm Beach. He was once an Artist in Residence at the Chateau du Bonmont, Cheserex, Switzerland.
