A Ute Mountain Indian Tribe pottery bowl signed ‘C. House’. An attractive low bowl with a matte gray glaze. The side banding is believed to be representing a wolf showing fanged teeth. Signed ‘# 14 Ute Mtn. Tribe C. House’. Very appealing piece. Ute reservation is at Towaoc, Colorado on the Ute Mountain Reservation in southwestern Colorado, northwestern New Mexico and small areas in Utah. Many of the designs and symbols on Ute pottery resembles those found in ancestral Pueblo petroglyphs, artifacts and dwellings.
