Kiyoshi Saito Signed Woodblock Print
Item Details
An original color woodblock print on paper of a girl carrying a basket by artist Kiyoshi Saito (Japanese, 1907-1997). Saito worked with callagraphs, woodblock prints and sumo paintings and is recognized for his landscape and figural studies. His work appears in several major museums, such as The Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of FIne Arts at Boston and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor along with his hometown Museum of Fukushima City. The print features a colorful woodblock of a young girl dressed in blue striped and red shirt with her hair pulled back and a sack full of vegetation swung across her back. This has a grey background and signed to the lower left. The print is set in a distressed wood and non glare glass plated frame.
Condition
- good to fair. The glass is loose in the frame. Chips and wear to wood.
