A Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669) etching The Strolling Musicians. Thought to be an impression of the second and final state due to tone of ink, a posthumous impression, on laid paper. This piece depicts several figures one of which is playing a horn. Matted in acid-free matting and mounted in a molded wood frame with antiqued metallic finish. Update: authentic and as stated, has been removed from frame and un-matted for photography and verification.
Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn was a Dutch painter and etcher. He is generally considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European art history and the most important in Dutch history.
