A Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669) etching The Artist Drawing from the Model, circa 1635. This piece depicts a standing nude and artists with architectural structures in the background. A unique composition with wonderful contrast. A later impression from second and final state, 18th or 19th century on laid paper. Matted in acid-free matting and mounted in a molded wood frame with antiqued metallic finish. Update: authentic and as stated, has been removed from frame and un-matted for photography and verification.
Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn was a Dutch painter and etcher. He is generally considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European art history and the most important in Dutch history.
