A Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669) original etching St. Jerome Kneeling in Prayer, Looking Down. Nice impression of the only state, before the later re-working on laid paper, with the artist’s name and date in the plate, albeit lighter toward the end. The piece depicts St. Jerome as he kneels in prayer with his hands folded near his chest. Matted in acid-free matting and mounted in a molded wood frame with antiqued metallic finish. Update: authentic and as stated, has been removed from frame and un-matted for photography and verification.
Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn was a Dutch painter and etcher. He is generally considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European art history and the most important in Dutch history.

Condition
very crisp impression however foxed and a little bit toned but damage was stopped when moved to an acid free paper.
