Item Details

A Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669) etching with drypoint and engraving titled Abraham Francen, Apothecary. Work depicts a man in period garb reading a document with triptych and crucifix in the background. The paper appears to be very thick and very early. It appears to be Hollstein’s XII of XII states, posthumous, on laid paper with watermark. Piece is matted with acid-free matting and mounted in part painted part gilt wood frame. Update: authentic and as stated, has been removed from frame and un-matted for photography and verification.
