A 1987 Canadian Prestige seven coin proof set from the Royal Canadian Mint in original display case and box with documentation card. This set has both the 1987 silver and new circulating dollars. . This is the year of the set in a frosted relief against a mirror field. The silver dollar commemorates the 400th anniversary of John Davis’ exploration of Baffin Island, the Davis Straight and the Gulf of Cumberland. The design is by Christopher Gorey of Nova Scotia and features a 16th century vessel with an iceberg in the background. The nickel features the Indian and the Voyageur in a canoe as was the first silver dollar issued in 1935. Mintage 175,686. All of the coins are under an acrylic protective cover for both front and back of coins. The padded genuine leather case has a red satin lining with a white ribbon to hold the info and spec card. The original box is black vinyl.
