A large oil painting on canvas, signed by North Carolina artist Patsy Howell in the lower right quadrant. It is a colorful depiction of a Venetian water scene juxtaposed with the city in the background. It is aptly titled, View from Harry’s Bar. The painting is executed in hues of turquoise, lavender, vicuna, berry red and more vibrant colors. It is beautifully framed in an ornate carved wood frame finished with a metallic glaze. The artist received a BA from the Greensboro College, North Carolina. Her extensive travels to Europe were heralded by her love of anything Van Gogh which have influenced her Abstract Impressionistic style. Her work was featured on a 2002 Bloomingdale’s catalog cover and placed within movie sets of Shattered and The Jackal. She has exhibited worldwide in various juried shows and her works are held in both private and public collections.
