A wonderful group of items for your hearth that includes a pair of vintage reproduction polychrome painted cast iron Revolutionary War Hessian grenadier soldier andirons and a matching hearth tool set. These pieces are vintage reproductions of known items dating from after the Revolutionary War, when solider andirons were most popular. The Hessian soldiers are cast in an astride position with their short swords held in an upright position. The tool set is stamped on the bottom ‘677 United MFC’, and includes a tool holder, poker, shovel, and tongs. The andiron based is stamped ‘2000’, M. ____ Pat. Pend’.

Condition

Tool set in good condition, and one andiron in good condition. Head has come off one andiron from previously glued repair, but could be repaired again.
