Item Details

An antique reproduction planographic print of John Ward Dunsmore’s Battle of Springfield, depicting Reverend James Caldwell passing out Watts Hymnals to use as gun wadding during the battle of Springfield, 1780. His cry of ‘Give Them Watts, Boys,’ became the motto of that battle and is printed beneath the title. John Ward Dunsmore’s original oil painting is owned by Fraunces Tavern Museum. The print is framed behind glass in wood that has been painted a metallic gold.

Condition

Water damage to paper, sticker labeled “41” on glass.
