A framed painting by Eugene Schmid. German born, California resident Eugene Schmid (b. 1919-d. 2007) is a well listed artist whose works are hanging in private collections in every state and worldwide, two are in the personal collection of England’s Queen Elizabeth. He was acclaimed for his realistic depictions of California Missions and historic landmarks. This original work is from Santa Barbara, California and captures a footpath winding through a forest. It is initialed to the lower right and the back is handsigned by the artist with an affixed biography (ca. 1980), and it is framed in a green and gold finished wood frame with a linen mat.
Condition
Good vintage condition, the frame is a separated at two corners and skewed, needs repaired; mat needs restretched.
