Vintage Slide Viewers
Item Details
A set of three mid-century vintage slide viewers. The largest is the Argus Pre-Viewer IV, for 35mm and 127-size color slides. It uses a glass viewing screen rather than an eyepiece like the other two viewers. The second piece is the Tru-Vue viewer, with a binocular-like design. It displays two slightly different images in each eyepiece, creating an illusion of depth and three-dimensionality. It includes the original instructions and two sets of slides on film rolls. Finally, there is a piece simply called ‘Slide Viewer’, for 126-size and 35mm slides, which consists of a single eyepiece. Only the Tru-Vue was able to be tested by EBTH, since the other two viewers do not include slides. The Tru-Vue was in working condition at the time of cataloging,
Condition
- the viewers themselves, including the lenses and eyepieces, are in good condition, with no visible scratches or cracks. One of the rolls of slides has a break which has been repaired with tape.
