An original Adam McIver cut-paper illustration, titled ‘Joy Ride’, circa 2010. Ink and pencil on cut paper and plywood board. McIver was born and raised in Kentucky, but spent the last five years pursuing creative endeavors in Chicago. His work often combines his love for the style of Saturday morning cartoons with found objects or photos to present a surreal juxtaposition of the real and unreal. This illustration depicts four friends taking a wild joy ride. The paper illustration is cut from actual Chicago parking tickets and drawn with ink and pencil. Mounted onto a painted, plywood board. ‘Signed’ with the artist’s logo in the lower, right corner. The back of the board is stamped with the artist’s logo, individually numbered (1 of 1), and signed.
Condition
Some curling around the edges of the cut paper. Plywood board displays cracking consistent with age of a found piece of wood.
