Blue Ridgeway Longcase Clock
Item Details
A Ridgeway longcase clock in a blue painted faux finish. Ridgeway is a division of Howard Miller Company, possibly one of the oldest continuously produced Grandfather clock brands in the United States. Although the face is marked ‘made in Germany,’ it possibly refers to the movement or mechanism. Within the clock hood, the arch on the dial face is marked ‘Tempus Fugit’ or ‘Time Flies.’ The face has applied, decorative brass corner spandrels, white face, black Roman numerals, and applied brass center. The trunk door opens to a pendulum and three barrel weights. The top of the case has an arched pediment, and stands on a plinth base with decorative split spindles.
