Original Gail Corbett Goldsmith Sculpture

An original Gail Corbett Goldsmith sculpture. The artist earned her BFA at Denver University in 1955 and after spending a year abroad in Mexico, she attended Cranbrook Academy of Art. Upon spending a year in Rome, the artist settled in New York and studied under Peter Agostini. In New York the artist was at one time represented by prominent gallerist William Holman, and in Kent, Connecticut by Rob Ober Gallery. The artist was also represented by Gallery 101 in Williamsburg. The clay sculpture depicts a woman leaning against a rail, looking outward as if deep in thought. Initialed ‘GC’ to reverse.
