An original still life on board by well-listed painter Donald F. Allen, signed to the lower left and dated at the right 1972. The artist has painted a gleaming green bunch of grapes alongside a small round bottle of wine and a glass. The painting exhibits the artist’s hand in rendering. All is soft featured, the application textured, but laid very flat, impressively so. This work, like many others by the same artist has an intensely rustic feel to it. It is presented in a molding of pastoral barn wood frame.
