Bombay Company Framed Botanical Prints
Item Details
A pair of delicately rendered and beautifully matted and framed botanical prints from the Bombay Company. One depicts a blue fringed iris, iris fimbriata in Latin, or ‘iris fringee’ in French. The other is of the Turk’s cap lily, with a Latin name lilium martagon, or in French ‘lis martagon.’ Each of these prints is presented in a wood frame with antiqued gold finish, and double mat, with the inner mat being green and the larger outer mat a light golden tan color.
Condition
The iris print has some dirt trapped inside frame that has fallen to the bottom. The lily print has some wear to finish of frame on top edge.
