Georg Kieffer English Saddle
Item Details
An English saddle made by German saddlemaker Georg Kieffer. This saddle measures 17.5’’ from the button to the center of the cantle and has a 5.5’’ gullet, measured from button to button on either side of the pommel. The flaps measure approximately 11.5’’ wide and 15’’ from stirrup bar to the bottom. The seat of this saddle is fairly deep, more suitable for dressage. The leather is quite supple and cared for. The underside of the flap is stamped with the brand name, indicating the saddle is made in Germany, model number ‘AS 6074 10’, and size. The saddle is Kieffer size 1.
Condition
Wear consistent with age and use. The leather is lightly worn. The stirrup bars show wear. Some separation in the stitching under the flap on one side. The leather is supple and well cared for.
Dimensions
Note that the height refers to the distance between the top of the pommel and the bottom of the flap. Note that the depth refers to the width of the seat.
