A primitive grandmother rocker made by J. S. Ford Johnson Co. of Chicago between 1872 and 1913. The seat is cherry veneer with a tiny carved rope embellishment. It has spindle back. An original paper tag is still affixed to the underside. J.S.Ford Johnson was one of the leading furniture manufacturers in the early 1900s and was known for Mission style furniture.
