A S.S. Seeandbee framed print, originally painted by artist Jack Loney. The S.S. Seeandbee was the largest side wheeler passenger ship to ever sail the Great Lakes. Built in 1913 for the C&B S.S. Co., this four stack ship was designed for overnight service between Cleveland and Buffalo. It was a combination palatial luxury passenger and packaging freight vessel, which became known as the ‘Queen of the Lakes’ since it could sleep 1500 and carry 6000 day passengers! However, during WWII is was purchased by the U.S. Maritime Commission and turned over to the U.S. Navy, where it was recommissioned the U.S.S. Wolverine. Mounted under glass with two green mats, this print is framed in a weather gray tone frame.
