"Black Maned Lion" by John Ruthven

A limited edition offset lithograph print #3123/5000, signed to plate and in pencil by artist John A. Ruthven, titled Black Maned Lion (title hidden with mount) from Ruthven’s Safari Series, 1973, Plate IV. To front is an image of an impressive lion, accurately portrayed in an almost illustrated style. This generously sized piece is professionally framed, housed in a dark wood frame with neutral mount and brown inset. The thin paper (with a soft rendition of the print and information about the artist and print) used as an overlay for the original print is housed in a pocket on the verso.

Condition

The print has some foxing. The overlay paper has some wear, tearing, and foxing.
