Richard Earl Thompson Signed and Numbered "Wildflowers" Print

A signed and numbered limited edition print from listed artist Richard Earl Thompson (1914-1991) from the Richard Thompson Gallery. Certificate of Authenticity is fixed to the verso along with the artist biography. Thompson is from the American Impressionism school and this piece depicts that style. It is titled The Wildflowers, numbered 1000/1000 and the artist has signed it in the lower right corner. The print is framed in a gilded wood frame accented with elaborate gesso ornamentation. The artist was a child protege of Frederick Grant at the Chicago Academy of Art and ultimately studied at the Chicago Art Institute under Louis Ritman. He had a very successful career as a commercial artist doing work for The Saturday Evening Post, Coca-Cola and designing WWII bond posters. In the 1950s Thompson changed his focus primarily to fine art. His work is in found in major museums and collections worldwide.
