Norman Bel Geddes Industrial Blue Metal Desk

A Norman Bell Geddes (1893-1958) by Simmons Furniture industrial blue metal desk, circa 1930s-1940s. Geddes was known for his aerodynamic industrial designs, opening his own studio in 1927 and is well known for the creation of General Motor’s ‘Futurama’ pavilion. The desk features a robin’s egg blue and white metal body with a single drawer above the chair space and three graduated drawers with round metal knobs to the right. The desk has square tapered legs and is marked inside the top drawer interior.
