Original Kaiko Moti Etching
Item Details
An original etching from well listed engraver Kaiko Moti (1921-1989), with signature to the bottom right hand corner, and subsequently numbered below, XXVII/LXXV (27/75). Kaiko was influenced mainly by the Old Masters and, in particular, by Turner, Moti is today recognized by many to be one of the premier engravers in the world. He claims, however, to have no secret techniques, only to have refined the basic methods, learning from each work he creates. This print is exemplary of Turner’s drama, and the divine subtleties that Moti is capable of achieving. This bleed print, called so for its lack of margin, is presented in a beautifully ornamental wooden frame with gold paint, and is floated on a single peach colored mat.
Condition
Some very mild wear.
