Tennessee Red Cedar and Novelty Company Cedar Chest

An early 20th century cedar chest manufactured by the Tennessee Red Cedar and novelty Company. This lovely chest features a molded locking lid with a push button mechanism, applied wood embellishments in acanthus leaf designs and turned bun feet. The chest also features the original manufactures paper attached tot he inside of the lid.

Condition

Wear consistent with age with heavy scratches and digs on the lid. The base molding has come unattached on one end and one of the applied wood scrolls on the front is cracked and has loss of wood.
