Item Details
An original oil painting on canvas by artist Julie Morrow DeForest (American, 1882-1979), titled Snow Drift On the Farm. Painted in an intensely colored Impressionist style; although a snowy white landscape, it depicts the winter view of a rural afternoon with skiing and sledding. Born and educated on the East Coast, DeForest was an English teacher for twenty years. In her late forties, after marrying a Cincinnati business executive, she was able to devote her time to painting and poetry. From the DeForest estate, this painting is signed on the lower right, and framed in a wide and ornate, bronze tone frame.
Condition
A little damage to two interior frame corners.
